We are a not-for-profit charity, run and managed by a board of executive committee
members. The committee provides the organisation its leadership and approves
policies, plans and budgets to achieve our core objectives, monitoring performance
against them.
The committee was formed from solely unpaid volunteers in the UK and Sri Lanka. It
works towards community and charitable purposes in Sri Lanka itself. The committee
is made of 21 members with a wide range of skills and expertise. The committee in
the UK meet a minimum of six times each year, with the Sri Lanka team meeting on
the 1st week of every month.
In Sri Lanka, two part-time staff provide services for pay to the organisation and two
paid staff work in the field. The charity complies with all relevant governing
documents, charity laws and other legislation.
Our business operating structure is flexible, and this is not a one-size-fits-all
approach, as it depends considerably on individual projects. Each will have its own
aims, allocated and available resources and will take different lengths of time to
complete. Ultimately, we are more than happy to use our committee’s broad range of
expertise to complete a wide range of projects for the betterment of the Sri Lankan
community.
